I really don't know how to word this in a non awkward manner, but here goes!

I'm currently playing Colette Kadiri garments at evo, and I am often paranoid that I am messing her up. Granted, I can't really mess her up because she's an OC, but on the other hand, I made her an Algerian/French and that's a pretty integral part of her. I haven't touched upon her religion much -- yes, I have touched upon her being French, but not so much the..idk, specificness of the culture? I think it would come out more if we had other French people/people from the Arabic world around, but even so.

I want to be able to incorporate that into her character without going into Public Service Announcement territory, but I'm not quite sure how. Then, there's the fact that I'm afraid that when I do, I might portray it insensitively or incorrectly, especially since there's a subculture behind Algerian/French.

And then there's the fact that her name is Colette, legally, and her names follow the French naming tradition, even if her two middle names are Arabic, and that would make her a Harki, which would be a totally different thing. While she does use her Arabic name in any Arabic speaking community and answers to Nesrine just as readily as she does Colette, the fact that she even has a French name probably excludes her a bit. IDK GUYS.

Basically in the midst of all this tl;dr -- should I put up a critique post for her, and how do I incorporate her religious/ethnocultural identity sensitively when I myself am not a part of that group?
